Held in the fitting location of Kwai Tsing Container Port, the Hutchison Accelerator Workshop promoted innovation within Hutchison. As one of the world’s leading port investor, developer and operator, Hutchison Port has a network of more than 50 ports spanning across 26 countries. Led by ThinkCol, the Accelerator Workshop looked into Ports’ pain points and initiated solutions that incorporated advanced technology such as machine learning, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things. Pinpointing on 3 challenges from the 9 pain points that participants put forward, the workshop gave the department representatives the opportunity to produce business plans to outline future action points.
The workshop is an innovative way to identify some of its pain points, solve them with advanced technologies and facilitate cross-department interactions. With inspiring talks from representatives from HKAI Lab and SenseTime, participants understood more about artificial knowledge and their use in different lines of businesses. The workshop also created a strong base for Hutchison to engage in initial conversation on how Ports should interact and collaborate with start-ups, accelerating innovation in the Ports business.
